Yes, I majorly do! I haven't updated in freaking ages and do have valid excuses (to start with, my laptop was stolen and I didnt get a new one for aaages!!!), but I wont bore you with it all. I've been in Paris for the past 2 weeks really and before that I've just generally been busy with uni work (which I should be finishing right now) and saving up for the new laptop. Its the same model as the previous one and was half price!! Bargain :D

Anyway, here's the latest news:


1) First up, please take a moment to look at lux_astraea's beautiful icon for made for my birthday. She made a bunch of them just for me and they're all wonderful so thank you so much and also a big thank to everyone to remembered my birthday! :)

2)Yes, it was my birthday... that means I'm turning old. Well, not really but I still like to think that I'm 20 so every birthday from then on has caused me to grind my teeth. In case you're wondering, I had a wonderful birthday overall although I did have to attend a funeral the next day.

3) Eastercon 2008: just a quick word to say I had a really good time and was pleasantly surprised to meet so many people from the HP fandom including spikeyboots, wildfyre, cassandraclare, sarahtales and also Holly Black! I was great meeting you all and I hope to see you again soon! And also multiclassgeek who convinced to come! You rock!

4) For all the mudblood428 fans, I finally met up with Venessa as she's over in the UK at the moment touring the country. It was lovely to finally meet her after knowing her and chatting over skype for so long!! I was amazing to catch up with her and give her a tour around the HP locations on central London and the British Museum. She'll be back from her tour in a week or so and I can't wait to meet up again :)

5) Fandom status: I feel like I'm slowing drifting away from the HP fandom. Not intentionally mind you, but because I'm increasingly less and less involved with fandom activities, especially since SpellCast has somewhat stopped. Of course there's still dhr_news which I intend to update soon (once again, family issues in the way!), but I would like to part of it again at some level even though my free time to read fanfiction and check out fanart has diminished. I really do miss writing and it hit me even harder as I was talking to V about my fanfics and how good I used to be at updating. Hmmm, I have a chapter nearly finished, but I think I might just post it here today as my first step forward.

6) Masters is coming to an end and my dissertation is looming nearer. I still have other deadlines to hand in before but I need to start organising things and at the same time think about the future... I need to find a job! Yikes!

7) Shows I've been watching: Robin Hood (BBC version) feaking love it even though the costumes are all messed up and a completely ridiculous show, but I think all the guys are hot in it! :) Life on Mars (S1), Doctor Who, Lost (latest episode blew my mind!) and Supernatural (latest episode rocked!) If anyone's seen the latest Lost episode, I wanna hear your thoughts about it!

So that's it from me really. I'm currently waiting for my new boiler to arrive so I can finally have a shower in my flat again (yay!) and also do my washing! Oh and I have been keeping uptodate with everyone's LJs (sorry for not commenting much!), but if you feel like I've missed anything important, send me a link!
